To improve product experience, analyze user demographics, and provide customer support, we minimize data collection to the following non-personally identifiable information:
Device Information: We collect device model, operating system version, and app version to help us optimize the App for different devices.
Unique Device Identifier: We use the Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) to distinguish unique users. This identifier is randomly generated and is not linked to your real name, phone number, email address, Apple ID, or any other personally identifiable information.
Usage Data: We collect basic usage statistics such as app launch time, current language settings, and membership subscription status (Free/Pro) to understand user engagement.
Network Information: We process your IP address solely to determine your approximate location at the country/region level for statistical purposes. We do not collect or track your precise GPS location.
User-Provided Content: When you use features such as translation, AI pronunciation feedback, AI Cantonese conversation practice, speaking practice, or dialogue practice, the text you enter, translation content, practice content, speech-recognized text, or conversation content may be used to generate translation results, AI replies, language feedback, expression suggestions, and practice scores. We do not link this content to your name, email address, phone number, Apple ID, payment information, or other personally identifiable information.
We follow a strict data minimization principle for sensitive personal data:
Personal Identity Information: We do not collect your name, phone number, email address, ID number, home address, or other personal identity information.
Account System: The App operates without a mandatory login system. You can use the App without registering an account.
Sensitive Information Notice: The App does not require you to provide sensitive personal information when using translation, AI conversation practice, or speaking practice features. Please do not enter ID numbers, bank account information, passwords, health information, precise addresses, or other sensitive personal information into translation, dialogue, or practice content.
System Permissions
To provide core learning features, we may request the following permissions:
Microphone Permission: Used for features such as Speaking Practice and AI Cantonese conversation practice to capture your pronunciation for pronunciation practice, speech recognition, dialogue practice, and learning feedback. Some basic pronunciation practice may be processed locally on your device. Features involving AI conversation, expression feedback, or practice scoring may require speech-recognized text or conversation content to be sent to a third-party AI service provider for processing.
Speech Recognition Permission: Used to assist in recognizing your spoken content for pronunciation practice, dialogue practice, expression feedback, and scoring.
Note: You can revoke these permissions at any time in your system settings, but this will prevent related features, such as speaking evaluation and AI Cantonese conversation practice, from functioning properly.
Data Storage, Transfer, and Security
Storage: The non-personal information mentioned in Section 1 may be securely stored on our servers and databases provided by trusted third-party cloud service providers, such as Cloudflare.
For AI-related features, the text you enter, translation content, practice content, speech-recognized text, or conversation content may be transferred to and processed by third-party AI service providers, including providers that may operate outside your country or region. Such content is used only to provide AI translation, AI conversation replies, language feedback, expression suggestions, and practice scores.
Consent to Processing: By choosing to use the App, you understand and agree that the non-personally identifiable information described above, as well as the content you actively provide or generate when using AI-related features, may be transmitted to cloud infrastructure or third-party AI service providers for processing. Such content is used only to provide App functionality and is not used to identify your real identity.
Security: We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. We do not sell your information to any third parties.
Local Data: Your learning progress, bookmarked items, and streak statistics are primarily saved on your device's local storage. We recommend backing up your device data via iCloud to prevent data loss in case of device loss or failure.
Third-Party Services
Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare as our infrastructure provider for API services, online configuration, and database storage. Cloudflare adheres to strict privacy and security standards.
Third-Party AI Services: To provide AI translation, AI pronunciation feedback, AI Cantonese conversation practice, AI dialogue replies, language feedback, expression suggestions, and practice scores, the App may send the text you enter, translation content, practice content, speech-recognized text, or conversation content to third-party AI service providers for processing.
Such content is used only to generate translation results, AI conversation replies, language feedback, pronunciation or expression suggestions, and practice scores. We do not send personally identifiable user information, such as name, email address, Apple ID, phone number, payment information, or device identifiers, to third-party AI service providers for these AI features.
Users are not required to provide sensitive personal information when using AI-related features. Please do not enter ID numbers, bank account information, passwords, health information, precise addresses, or other sensitive personal information into translation, dialogue, or practice content.
No Ads: The App contains no third-party advertising SDKs.

Service Content
YueLiuli provides auxiliary tools for learning Cantonese pronunciation, vocabulary, phrases, dialogues, scenario-based learning, AI pronunciation feedback, and AI Cantonese conversation practice. All audio, text, images, AI feedback, expression suggestions, and scoring content within the App are for learning reference only.
Usage Rules
You agree to use this App only for lawful personal learning purposes.
You agree not to enter illegal, harmful, abusive, infringing, or sensitive personal information into translation, dialogue, AI conversation, or speaking practice features.
The intellectual property rights of all content contained in this App, including but not limited to text, audio, images, interface design, and code, belong to the developer. Unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use is prohibited without permission.
Fees and Subscriptions
Freemium Model: The basic features of the App are free to use. Some advanced features, such as unlimited translations, advanced practice modes, AI Cantonese conversation practice, and full content access, may require a Pro membership subscription.
Subscription Management: Subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store In-App Purchase. Users can manage or cancel subscriptions through their Apple ID subscription settings. Unauthorized resale or separate commercial distribution of the App's content is prohibited.
Disclaimer
The pronunciation scoring, AI conversation feedback, expression suggestions, and practice scores provided by the App are for learning reference only. They do not serve as professional language proficiency certification and do not guarantee complete accuracy or suitability for every real-life context.
AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, unnatural, or unsuitable for a specific situation. Users should use their own judgment when applying AI-generated suggestions in real communication.
The developer is not liable for any data loss caused by user device failure, accidental deletion of the App, clearing of local data, or other local storage issues.
Agreement Modification
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy and User Agreement at any time. Modified versions become effective immediately upon publication, including publication inside the App or on our website, and replace the previous version.
